Per Scholas is an environmentally-responsible nonprofit organization committed to breaking the cycle of poverty by providing education, technology and economic opportunities to students, families and communities.

Since its inception in 1995, Per Scholas has:

- Distributed over 80,000 computers to low income families
- Partnered with 25 inner-city public schools
- Trained more than 2,850 disadvantaged adults in technology field careers
- Brought $60 million in annual wages to the community
- Recycled 1,000,000 of tons of computer equipment

Operating out of the poorest congressional district in the country, Per Scholas offers the following programs to participants at no cost:

Comp2Kids
Provides students and their families with free computer training and a home computer.

Comp2Kids provides professional development training to teachers and technology training to students and their parents. The one-day training sessions teach computer basics, including Microsoft Office and Internet use. After instruction, students receive a home computer supplied by Per Scholas. Once all students and teachers in a partner school receive computers, Comp2Kids stays with the school, providing computers for incoming sixth graders every school year.

Comp2Seniors
Provides senior citizen centers with computer technology labs.

Comp2Seniors allows older adults to stay connected to their communities, families, and the services they need. Participating seniors receive ten 75-minute classes. The training curriculum is structured to help seniors feel comfortable and capable around computers.

Computer Technician Training
Provides a free education, along with financial literacy and career development.

The 15-week Computer Technician Training program enables disadvantaged adults to become A+ Certified Technicians and begin profitable careers in the field of Information Technology. Over 2,000 Per Scholas graduates are gainfully employed. In aggregate, they earn more than $60,000,000 in annual salaries.
